How did we get here...

Our Story
Chef Mark graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in New York (way back in 1995), before gravitating to Winter Park, Colorado where he met his wife, Angie. Together, they created the Firefly concept, first with a food truck in Arizona, and now exclusively with the Grand Lake pizzeria and bar. Mark brings over thirty years of experience in the food industry. He has mastered the art of making dough and fine-tuned the pizzeria menu. Angie prefers the behind-the-scenes action, working on systems efficiency, management, and design.

The Consiglio family of the Amalfi Coast and New Haven...turn of 20th Century
(Mark's grandfather is the one who is smiling!)
The Family
Our Neapolitan pizzas are born from the deep roots of the Italian Amalfi Coast. Mark’s great-grandfather, Gennaro Consiglio, was born in Amalfi, and his great-grandmother, Catherina Savo, was born in Atrani. They immigrated to New Haven, Connecticut, at the turn of the 20th Century, where other branches of the Consiglio family made their way with pizza at the helm - Sally’s Apizza and Frank Pepe Pizzeri. (Check out this documentary, Pizza A Love Story that tells all about it!) We've recently been fortunate enough to connect with the family in Italy, bringing back the authentic-flavor of the region!
